So you're interesting in becoming a modern professional Toastmaster?
You've come to the right place.
This is not a job, this is pure pleasure watching your clients react on a regular basis to what you do.
Beginning a new career and setting up a new business can seem a little daunting at the mere thought, but be assured we are here to support and guide you every step of the way.
I’m Richard Lavender, President and Founder of the UKTA.
For far too long, toastmaster training in the UK has been rooted in tradition. While there is certainly a place for tradition, the reality is that modern toastmasters predominantly work at weddings and corporate events. The decline of civic and other formal occasions is clear.
Unfortunately, as with many aspects of society, the funding that once supported such events is no longer available. Many traditional associations continue to resist this change, fearing the demise of the traditional toastmaster, and as a result, the training they provide is often no longer fit for purpose.
Here at the UKTA, we honour and respect the traditions of our profession, but we are also realistic, forward-thinking, and adaptable to the modern landscape.
We understand the evolving role of the toastmaster and prepare our students to excel not only in formal occasions but also in the wide variety of events they’ll encounter today.
Training with us will be eye-opening and intensive, filled with engaging modules that will equip you with the skills and confidence to begin your toastmaster journey immediately.
We’re excited to see you thrive — and we’ll be right by your side supporting you every step of the way

Why Choose UK Toastmaster Academy?
The UK Toastmaster Academy Training Course includes pre-course assisted learning, followed by a four-day in-person training course, and a one-day online mentor session once the course has been completed. You may also choose to train online; this option is more cost-effective and can be delivered in various formats—please enquire for details.
Our in-person course typically runs from Monday to Thursday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with breaks and lunch included. During the course, delegates may be given some light evening tasks to review, though these will not be overly demanding. Each course intake is limited to a maximum of 10 trainees. The current course fee is £2,500.00 for in person training or £1,200.00 for online training.
This fee covers all tuition delivered by our Head of Training and Development, along with guest speakers who will join the programme throughout the week. The fee also includes venue hire, tea, coffee, light refreshments, and lunch provided daily. Writing materials, stationery, and a UKTA folder will be supplied. You will receive access to a comprehensive Training Manual covering every aspect of the course, pre-course study materials, your own personal copy of Debrett’s Handbook, and a branded water bottle. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be presented with a Certificate of Graduation.
You will also receive your first 12 months of public liability insurance.
